Local Marriott Hotels Step Up for Families in Time of Need

If you have ever been on a tour of our hospital or had the unfortunate experience of having a loved one treated in our current Neonatal ICU and Pediatric ICU facilities, you’ll know that these areas do not have private rooms and do not offer beds or couches for moms and dads to stay with their children. This means that families, like the Armstrongs of Oxford, who live hours away and have a critically ill child bring treated in our hospital must find outside lodging.

One of the great resources we have on our campus is the Ronald McDonald House which provides lodging for several families in need. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ronald McDonald House is unable to take in any new families for the foreseeable future. This especially impacts mothers and fathers from out-of-town who cannot afford lodging to be able to visit their child being treated at the hospital.

When our local Marriott hotels heard of the situation our families were facing, they stepped up in a huge way to make sure no parent would be separated from their sick child. Several Marriott hotels, including Towneplace Suites in Ridgeland and the Jackson Convention Center Downtown Hotel, are offering significantly discounted and affordable room rates to our families who need a place to stay.

Thank you, Marriott, for your generosity and commitment to our patient families!
