EagleTHON Raises More Than $52k During Virtual Event

It wasn’t the way the student leaders of EagleTHON at Southern Miss originally envisioned how their event would go. On March 12th, Southern Mississippi administration canceled all on-campus events due to COVID-19 leaving Eaglethon’s plans in flux. EagleTHON students could’ve easily had just called it quits and be proud of what they had already accomplished, but that was not the way the students wanted to go out. They altered their plans to take their event online. The students keep the same weekend as originally planned. Content contained the traditional morale dance, patient stories, fundraising challenges, and even a closing ceremony. Through the hard work and resiliency of the students, the event raised $52,863.84! This was a 40% increase from last year.
