Trucking for Kids Driving Competition October 19, 2019

Since 2017, Walmart Distribution Center #6011 has been putting on the Trucking for Kids Driving Competition to raise money for Batson Children’s Hospital. This past weekend, on Saturday, October 19, they continued this fundraiser for a third year at Trustmark Park.

Participants competed for prices and trophies by driving various vehicles, such as 5-axle sleeper cabs or 3-xle day cabs, through an obstacle course. Local Walmart stores even got in on the competition by competing for the title of “Grand Supreme Champion” given to the store that brings the most volunteers and participants.

FedEx Freight, Total Transportation and Old Dominion also worked with the Walmart DC #6011 to put the event on and make it a success. With their help and the support of all who attended, the competition raised over $13,000 for Mississippi’s only children’s hospital! This will truly make a difference in the lives of the patients and families treated at Batson Children’s Hospital.
